Our Process

We use a step-by-step process for completing all of our projects. As a client, you will be updated at every step of the process. You will have many opportunities to provide feedback on our progress. Like most businesses in this industry, we can only provide a limited number of revisions, so it is important to plan out the project from the beginning. Projects can vary greatly in size and scope. Below is a basic outline that we use for most projects. Each project is unique. We will work with you to create the best work possible to suit your needs.

Step 1: Consultation

Tell us about your project!

The best way to get started is to complete the form at the bottom of this page. This will provide us with the basic information about your project. Once we receive your project information, we will contact you via email to discuss your project in more detail. We recommend scheduling a video meeting via Zoom or Google Meet. A video meeting is usually much better than email for an initial discussion. It allows us to get acquainted and have a good conversation about your project - what you need and what we can do for you. If you are unsure about what type of creative work would be the best for your needs, we will be happy to offer suggestions.

Let’s talk about price.

After our initial meeting, we will get back to you within a few days with the total price of the project. The price is determined based on a variety of factors which are explained on the Pricing page. We will try our best to work within your budget.

We’ll create a written agreement.

We will write an agreement that works for both of us. It’s always good to have everything spelled out so there is no confusion. The written agreement will clearly describe the specifics of the project including price, payment schedule, revision schedule, timeline, usage rights, etc. Once the written agreement is signed by both of us, we will begin work on your project.

Step 2: We’ll get to work

We'll get started on your project as soon as possible. We’ll be in continuous contact with you throughout the project. You’ll receive regular updates on our progress for your review and approval.

Rough Sketch

This is the first step of the actual creative work. We will start to translate your ideas into a tangible visual form. This will be a quick sketch or sketches to determine the basic design layout and visual elements of the work. The sketches will be very rough at this point. We don’t want to spend an inordinate amount of time on a design that may not be appropriate for the project. We will send this to you (usually within a couple of days) for your feedback.

Rough Sketch Revisions: At this point, we will send you the Rough Sketch for your review. Tell us everything that needs to be changed. We will make the changes and send the updated sketch. We will do up to two rounds of revisions for the Rough Sketch.

All basic design and visual elements should be finished at this point.

Refined Sketch

Now we will take the Rough Sketch and refine it to create a Refined Sketch. The focus at this point is to create accurate shapes, sizes, and proportions of all the elements.

Refined Sketch Revisions: At this point, we will send you the Refined Sketch for your review. Tell us everything that needs to be changed. We will make the changes and send the updated sketch. We will do up to two rounds of revisions for the Refined Sketch. Any changes to aspects that should have been determined in the Rough Sketch, such as the basic design layout and what elements are included, may be subject to additional fees.

All shapes, sizes, and proportions should be finished at this point.

Step 3: Final Product

Final Rendering

The shapes, sizes, and proportions have been determined in the previous step. We will now add the appropriate form (highlights and shadows) to make it look three dimensional and accurate details (textures, colors, patterns, etc.) to make it look realistic.

Final Rendering Revisions: At this point, we will send you the Final Rendering for your review. Tell us everything that needs to be changed. We will make the changes and send the updated image. We will do up to two rounds of revisions for the Final Rendering. Any changes at this point should be minor. Any changes to aspects that should have been determined in the Rough Sketch (design layout and visual elements) or Refined Sketch (shapes, sizes, and proportions) may be subject to additional fees.

Deliverables

We will send you the final files in the appropriate formats.

Finalize

We will send you an invoice for the remaining balance to be paid within 30 days.
